Before Quest was established in 1988, travellers were limited mainly to hotels and motels. For people travelling for business this meant working, sleeping and eating in the one small space. It also made travelling for families and groups expensive, with multiple rooms required to accommodate everyone.
Quest identified this demand and provided accommodation in convenient locations, with reliable standards and a flexible living space. We pride ourselves on listening to Australians’ needs and providing them with the following:
Quest Chairman, Paul Constantinou opened the first Quest apartment building, Royal Gardens in Fitzroy, Melbourne in 1988, a location which still operates under the Quest banner today. Over the next 18 years, we grew to have 60 Quest locations by 2006, mainly based in Victoria. Since then we have seen the brand extend to over 150 Quest businesses in every state and territory, plus a number in New Zealand and one in Fiji. The recently announced partnership with the Singapore based Ascot group provides Quest Apartment Hotels with the access to become a truly international brand.
Paul’s vision has been realised but there’s more to come and he still guides the business today, although with a lot more assistance than he did in 1988.
